FCCI urges government to release preferential policies for textile industry

On Nov 10, Pakistan's The Express Tribune claimed that in order to improve the international competitiveness and leadership of Pakistani textile industry, Zafar, vice chairman of FCCI, proposed that the policy of Pakistani textile industry in 2019-2024 should focus on promoting the export of high value-added products and doing the following tasks: first, improve the convenience of Pakistani business and reduce business costs; second, improve the service capacity of the government to provide one-stop service platform for enterprise registration, social security processing, tax payment, etc.; third, carry out research and development activities, use subsidy credit mechanism, and encourage textile exporters to produce high value-added products; fourth, further tap the potential of small and medium-sized textile enterprises; fifth, organize and carry out textile research forum, encourage the cultivation of genetically modified cotton varieties to produce organic cotton, and establish production center in Pakistan; sixth, encourage internationally recognized laboratories to set up testing centers in Pakistan to expand the detection of harmful substances; seventh, attract foreign investment to encourage the establishment of joint ventures in textile machinery and equipment; eighth, build up Pakistani textile brands, establish textile export promotion centers, and enhance international market awareness.
