Tariff for PIY, FDY, other PFY and PSF will be decreased to 0%. For tariff of POY, it will be reduced by 0.5% each year and gradually fall to 0% from the 10th year. Tariff of PX, ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid and its salts has been 0% now and will sustain this level.
Therefore, the implementation of RCEP trade deal is supposed to impact PFY and PSF more compared with upstream feedstock market including PX, PTA and MEG. Export cost of PFY is supposed to reduce and there is no direct impact on PSF. One thing should be noted: the competitiveness of low end textiles and apparels of China has weakened compared with that in ASEAN, so industrial transfer maintains. RCEP is estimated to lower the export cost in ASEAN, which may accelerate the transfer to a certain extent.
